Use unique employee numbers and PINs

Each employee should have a management-assigned employee number and private PIN. Avoid shared credentials.

Clear abandoned entries

An inactivity timer should return the station to the first step when an employee walks away without completing a punch.

Define break rules

Managers can decide whether separate break buttons are shown. Lunch and break punches should follow a valid sequence so reports remain accurate.

Review exceptions

Supervisors should review missed punches, unusually long breaks, and corrections before payroll is calculated.
